About the district
The area is almost entirely occupied by industrial facilities, warehouses and railway infrastructure. There is very little residential sector — a few old houses. Mainly enterprise workers live here.
Infrastructure for residents is practically non-existent — perhaps one small shop. There are no schools, kindergartens, or clinics. Public transport is very rare, there is a railway station.
Šķirotava is an option exclusively for industrial zone or railway workers who need cheap housing near work. Not suitable for normal living.
